Sleep Consulting Insurance Coverage
Get Coverage for Sleep Support with a Registered Social Worker
Affordable. Accessible. Often Covered by Insurance.
Better sleep is possible, and accessible.
At Baby’s Best Sleep (BBS), we do things differently. Unlike many sleep consulting companies, our team is made up of Registered Social Workers (RSWs) and mental health professionals across Canada. That means when you work with one of our BBS social workers, your services are often covered under your extended health benefits—making high-quality sleep support more accessible, affordable, and sustainable for your family.
Step 1:
Confirm Your Coverage
Check with your insurance provider to see if they cover psychotherapy or counselling services from a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in your province.
You’re looking for language like:
- "Counselling or therapy with a registered social worker"
- "Psychotherapy with an RSW"
- "Mental health services provided by a social worker"
Don’t see it? Call your provider to ask directly—many plans do include this benefit, even if it’s not listed clearly. Simply let them know you are receiving parenting coaching with a registered social worker and how they would like you to claim that service.
Step 2:
Book With a BBS Social Worker
When booking, make sure you’re choosing one of our team members who is a Registered Social Worker. You’ll receive support for your baby or child’s sleep from someone trained in both mental health and behavioural support—with the bonus of coverage.
Step 3:
Submit Your Receipt
After each session or package, we provide a detailed insurance-compliant receipt that includes the RSW’s license number and all required information. You can submit this directly to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
Why Choose a BBS Social Worker?
Let’s be real—anyone can call themselves a sleep consultant. But at BBS, our RSWs bring something more:
-
Mental Health Expertise: We're trained in family systems, child development, trauma-informed care, and maternal mental health.
- Evidence-Based Sleep Support: Our methods are grounded in science, not internet trends or sleep myths.
- Ethical Standards: As social workers, we follow strict ethical guidelines. We don’t use gimmicks, ask for/incentivise reviews, or pressure you—because trust is everything.
- Covered by Insurance: Unlike non-regulated consultants, your work with us is often reimbursed as we a regulated professionals.
Our team of social workers helps families every day with infant sleep, toddler bedtime battles, night weaning, early waking, general parenting coaching and more—with compassion, clinical skill, and regulatory oversight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is sleep consulting covered by insurance?
It is when it’s provided by a Registered Social Worker! Most private insurance plans in Canada include coverage for therapy or counselling services by an RSW.
I only see package prices. What’s the hourly rate?
This depends on your BBS-registered social worker’s years of experience, but all packages are broken down into individual hours that you can claim with your insurance company.
What names are on the receipts? Mine? My child’s? Everyone?
That’s a discussion we encourage you to have with your insurance company. Every provider is different, and we’re happy to comply with the requirements of your insurance.
Can I pick which BBS team member I work with?
Yes! When booking, you’ll be able to choose from our available RSWs based on your location, concerns, and availability. We truly believe in the power of good fit. Feel free to book as many discovery calls as you need to find your ideal candidate.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Absolutely. Our team offers virtual care across multiple provinces, and your insurance will typically still apply.
Are you registered in my province?
Probably! We have registered social workers in Nova Scotia, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and British Columbia. And coming soon–RSWs in Saskatchewan and the Yukon!
What if my plan doesn’t mention social workers?
Call your provider—many plans cover services under “mental health” or “psychotherapy” without clearly listing social workers. It’s worth the ask.
